Weldon Kick’s off Development Program with a Full Week of Testing

SS Racing’s newest driver, Andrew Weldon, isn’t starting off slow. SS Racing has him on a week long testing tour. He began at Orlando Speedworld in Florida on Monday and will continue at New Smyrna Speedway Wednesday and Thursday. His work week will conclude Friday after testing at Lakeland Speedway for a total of three Florida tracks.

Weldon is being coached by 3-Time ASA Champion, Butch Miller. The team is using two former ASA Touring cars for the training. They have two cars on the track allowing Miller to interact with Weldon in a real track scenario. A typical driver coach will stand in the pits and make comments over the radio, but Miller has constructed a much more challenging program for Weldon.

After the first day of testing the Professor of Short Track Racing (Miller) was quite pleased with Weldon’s performance. “Today went good, really good, it was excellent actually,” said Miller, who doesn’t hand out compliments unless deserved.
