Rain Delays Today’s Testing for Weldon, but Isn’t Slowing Progress!
New Smyrna, FL (December 8, 2005) - In his third day of an intense week of testing, Andrew Weldon is coming up to speed quickly. Today’s testing at New Smyrna Speedway had to be canceled due to heavy rains. Fortunately it was the second day at the track, which allowed Weldon to test there on Wednesday.
His drivers coach and mentor, Butch Miller, continues to give Weldon high marks, declaring today that he’s ready for a race.
“Andrew has come a long way in just a few days,” said Miller, after the test session at New Smyrna on Wednesday. “We made changes to the car and he provided excellent feedback and understood the changes we made.”
“He’s ready for a race, we’re ready to progress him onto step 2, racing in a real event. I believe he’s ready for it and will do well,” Miller added.
The SS Racing Team is preparing for two more test sessions on Weldon’s Testing Tour. Friday they will be at Lakeland, FL and Monday their tour will conclude at Bronson Speedway in Bronson, Fl.
