Indianapolis, Ind. (Friday August 11, 2006) - Andrew Weldon is coming off of his best career finish in the ASA Late Model Series and some positive momentum in his first year of pavement racing. Weldon will return to Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Ind. this Saturday night. He will pilot the No. 07 SS Racing Development Chevy for the fifth time this year at the northern Indiana track. With one win and three out of four top tens he will certainly be a contender for the win.
“I have learned so much this year,” said Weldon. “We have been consistent lately and have had some good runs.” Weldon finished 4th in last weekends ASA Late Model Southern Division race at Motor Mile Speedway and 6th and 1st in his last two Illiana Speedway events.
The young driver would like to win again, but will be primarily focused on another solid run. “Of course I would like to get back to victory lane,” stated Weldon. “But most of all I’m looking to continue this streak of top runs. That is a major thing I have learned this year from Butch Miller, is driving smart and consistent. But certainly if the opportunity is there to go for a win we will.”
Weldon and the SS Racing team hit the track for Pepsi Night at the Races this Saturday night at 7pm. Gates open at 4pm. For more event info visit www.illianaspeedway.com
